This study explored the stories of the experiences of three associate degree nurse educators and how they evolved in the way they viewed their world as they transitioned in their role from nurse expert to experienced nurse educator. As associate degree nursing education is the most commonly reported initial nursing education of registered nurses in the United States, and, because of the highly affordable and accessible means for educating the next generation of nurses, the purpose of this study was to address the projected nurse and nursing faculty shortage.
