The research question asked in this study is, how does consistent sensory motor activity impact student attention and independent work skills? It bases its action on the theory that all higher level learning requires a strong foundation of sensory motor experiences. Two trends are noted. First, our society’s decreasing opportunities for rich sensory motor experiences and second, our legislated push for increased academic demands of students at younger ages. . The purpose of this action research study is to investigate the effectiveness of implementing hands-on activities for increasing the engagement of kindergarten students. This transcendental phenomenological study modeled after Moustakas’ (1994) phenomenological reduction investigated the perceptions of teachers and students regarding the effectiveness of ClassDojo as a classroom management tool for three middle school classrooms at Cardinal Unified School District (pseudonym). The research questions for the study were aimed at understanding teachers’ and students’ perceptions of the effectiveness of ClassDojo as a classroom management tool as well as the necessary resources and experiences to implement it well. The purpose of this study was to determine whether teaching children about peace would help them to reduce or resolve conflicts in the classroom. Traditionally, students in an elementary class are either disengaged or distracted from their classmates. The problem involves behavior and emotional disturbances that are often accelerated by external influences. The purpose of this research is to explore the use of yoga as an approach to reducing stress, increasing self-confidence and reducing negative behavior in a fifth grade class. A review of the literature revealed that students can ultimately improve behavioral management skills when given specific learning tools.
