With the advancements in the field of neuroscience, MRI and f(MRI)s are being used to study the human brain in ways that were not previously possible. Societal and educational demands in the United States have resulted in feelings of stress for adolescents. The impact of stress can leave adolescent’s feeling exhausted and drained. A basic review of the anatomy and functions of the brain is presented along with a discussion of the period of adolescent development, influences and stressors on the adolescent brain.
