Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang 1) pemanfaatan internet, lingkungan, dan motivasi belajar; 2) pengaruh pemanfaatan internet, lingkungan dan motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar siswa mata pelajaran dasar kompetensi kejuruan kompetensi keahlian teknik audio video SMK Negeri se-Kabupaten Gunungkidul. Metode yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data adalah kuesioner dan tes. Teknik analisa data dalam penelitian ini adalah statistik deskriptif dan analisis regresi. This study explored the topic of motivation for intermediate students combining both an objective criterion measure (i.e., standardized test scores) and the self-report of students on self-concept and value of reading. The purpose of this study was to examine how third grade reading achievement correlated with the motivation of fourth grade boys and girls, and, in turn, how motivation related to fourth grade reading achievement.

Motivation, self-efficacy, beliefs about intelligence, and attributions about academic performance all play important roles in student success. To determine the relationships between these factors and the influence of demographics upon them, an online quantitative survey was taken of college students measuring their self-perceptions of these factors. The survey was comprised of items from three existing surveys: the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ), the Implicit Theories of Intelligence Scale, and the Revised Causal Dimension Scale. I apply the concept of unalienated recognition as a form of democratic exchange, introduced by Rheingold (2012), to a different educational setting. Eight hundred Saudi Arabia educators from the Riyadh District participated in this study to determine teachers' access to computers, computer skill level and motivation to enroll in online courses pertaining to professional development. Participants, who were chosen according to a stratified sampling technique, completed a survey which provided the data for the study.

The purpose of this descriptive study was to look at the factors that influence pre-service technology education majors to choose to become teachers. The pre-service teachers of three Indiana technology education teacher preparatory programs were given an internet survey to collect demographic data and determine what factors influence current pre-service teachers. Exploring Freshmen College Students' Self-Efficacy, Attitudes, And Intentions Toward Chemistry, Amanda F. Cook

This study examined the self-efficacy beliefs, attitudes towards general chemistry, and intentions to take future chemistry courses in a sample of (n = 1,126) first-time, first-year freshmen from a large comprehensive university in the Mid-South. The main purpose of the study was to determine the amount of variance in students’ intentions which could be predicted by self-efficacy, attitudes, and other known influences (past performance, past experience and choice of major). Findings from a standard multiple regression indicate that self-efficacy (β = 0.07, p < .05) and attitude (β = 0.50, p < .001) are both significant and predict 29.3% of the variance in intentions, with attitudes making a larger unique contribution. Using a hierarchical regression to control for other known factors, self-efficacy and attitudes were still able to predict 23.5% of the variance in intentions. Overall, the five independent variables were able to predict 31.7% of the variance in intentions. Implications for secondary and postsecondary science educators and STEM administrators are discussed.

The purpose of this quantitative study was to identify what factors shape mindset of singing ability in first-year college music majors and non-music majors, and to examine the relationship of that mindset to intent to participate in singing activities. A researcher-designed survey was administered to first-year college music majors and non-music majors (N = 426). The survey questions explored possible relationships between mindset (beliefs in singing ability as a fixed trait or potential for growth) and (a) past musical experiences, (b) influence from others, (c) singing identity, and (d) intended participation (Dweck, 2000). Disaffiliates from encapsulating sects may have many motivations for their disaffiliation. Multiple typologies exist which shed light on an individual’s motivations for disaffiliation from religious groups in general, and on motivations for disaffiliation from particular sects, though no exploration has been made of disaffiliates of the highly tense, fundamentalist Christian Two-by-Two sect. This thesis describes results from a survey of former members of the sect which points to motivations regarding the implausibility of doctrine as being the strongest motivations for these disaffiliates.

Professional graduate student programs have relatively low completion rates, which comes at significant cost to the university and student. Achievement motivation theory can account for success or failure with undergraduate students, but this has not been fully tested with graduate students. This study found that achievement motivation theory was a modest predictor of student achievement and type of study strategy use for first-term graduate students at the University of St. Augustine. Background: Doctoral attrition has been the subject of significant research over the past several years (Bair & Haworth, 2004; Cohen & Greenberg, 2011; Gardner, 2008; Lovitts, 2001). Prior research on doctoral students has focused on substantive differences in the Ed.D. and Ph.D. in education degree programs, rather than on potential differences among the students themselves. This research study explored the concept of capacity building and motivation of staff by school leadership teams in the successful development and implementation of educational initiatives, specifically Response to Intervention (RtI). A great deal of scholarship has addressed leadership and its effect on motivation, but few studies have investigated the necessary characteristics and effective school should encompass to generate widespread and sustainable capacity to raise the bar and close the gap of student achievement.
