Emg Analysis Of Concurrent Activation Potentiation, William Ebben, Erich Petushek, Mckenzie Fauth, Luke Garceau

Purpose: This study evaluated the effect of remote voluntary contractions (RVC) on concentric isokinetic knee extensor and flexor peak torque, rate of torque development, power, and work, the activation of the affected muscles, and gender differences therein. Methods: Eleven men and 12 women were evaluated with EMG and isokinetic dynamometry during knee extension and flexion tests in RVC and baseline (NO-RVC) test conditions. The RVC condition included jaw clenching, hand gripping, and the Valsalva maneuver. I used this presentation to close a two day Provost Advisory Council (PAC) off-campus retreat and to inspire strong collegial relationships among this important work group, which I chair. As part of the retreat activities, each PAC member delivered an “Expert Moment” presentation that was to highlight their discipline-related expertise in a way that would be relevant to the group. Generally, my discipline scholarship focused on predicaments in personal and professional relationships. What can arts‐based learning offer to adult, work‐related education? A study was undertaken that explored the benefits of learning with the arts for professional development of an adult learner in Australia. The individual experiences of nine adults who participated in arts‐based workshops to build work‐related skills were examined using the contextual model of learning where the personal, socio‐cultural and physical contexts were considered. To determine the potential for professional development, the participants' perceived learning outcomes were examined against the list of the skills valued in the modern workplace.
