On November 4 in St. Louis, Mo., President Strider addressed a symposium commemorating the 175th anniversary of the birth and the 140th anniversary of the death of Elijah Parish Lovejoy, the 1826 Waterville College graduate and abolitionist who was murdered while defending his press in Alton, Ill.
