A Study Of Centralized Technical Services For The Organization Of Learning Resource Materials With Examples From Three Selected School Districts, Marilyn Ann Drengson

The purpose of this study was to examine the methods used by three school districts--a small district, a medium-sized district, and a larger district--which have set up centralized technical services for the organization of learning resource materials, thereby relieving the individual librarian within the buildings of certain necessary, but time-consuming tasks. These methods will be set down herein and studied with the possibility in mind that districts which do not now provide these services may find some suggestions to consider in deciding upon the feasibility of such services.

This is a study to determine if beginning golf students who view a videotape replay of themselves practicing a full swinging golf shot with an instructor's critique will improve their golf performance skills significantly more than students whose full swinging golf shot is videotaped but who are not exposed to a videotape replay of their performance; however, they were provided an instructor's critique.

This study is concerned exclusively with offensive and defensive leg wrestling. The maneuvers included in such an instructional film should have a wide enough range to be used in a high school physical education program or in varsity college wrestling. The problems of this study were first, to determine the moves, counters, and drills used in effective leg wrestling that were taught by leading coaches, and second, to present these moves, counters, and drills in action film with a comprehensive printed description and analysis of these moves.

It was the purpose of this study to produce eight millimeter (8mm) cartridge films to illustrate for the beginning instrumentalist the proper procedures to follow in caring for his instrument. The study endeavored to prove that 8mm cartridge films provide a valuable means of individualizing instruction in instrumental music. For the purpose of this study, six cartridge films and study guides were produced. This series was then evaluated by a panel of instrumental music teachers.

Because literature teachers have little understanding of the art of film, they often consider the film to be a frill rather than an aid to learning. The author contends in this study that literature teachers must be convinced that the motion picture is an art, and that the motion picture teaches the student to appreciate and understand literature more thoroughly. The problem is to convince the literature teacher of the art and the power of the film.

A study to determine if teacher-trainees who view a videotape replay of themselves practicing specific teaching skills prior to receiving an analysis of their lesson will score significantly higher on a specially designed rating instrument than trainees who practice the same skills but receive no videotape-replay and must rely on their ability to recall a mental image as they receive an analysis of their lesson.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the Student Production Services provided by the Audiovisual Library to the students of Central Washington State College, with a view toward determining the benefits received and the problems encountered by the students in producing instructional media required for their college activities. The hypothesis of the study is as follows: Students using the Student Audiovisual Production Laboratory at Central Washington State College are not experiencing any major difficulties in producing the materials to meet their needs.
