The Nebraska Tractor Law known as House Roll 85, 37th session, which became effective July 15, 1919, was enacted to encourage the manufacture and sale of imporved types of tractors and to contribute to a more successful use of the tractor for farming.

It was thought that the best method of accomplishing these objects would be to require a tractor of each model sold in the State to be tested at the State University and to have the results of these tests made public. The object of these rules, instructions and data is to make all tractor demonstrations of this kind comparable and of the greatest educational value. Anyone who has conducted tractor demonstrations in the past has realized the necessity of some standard rules to follow and those who afterwards have referred to the results, deplore the lack of uniformity in the demonstrations and the data.
