Case Study Exploring Training For Assembly Of God Pastors, Robert W. Shader

Abstract Pastors in the Assembly of God fellowship have several options regarding types of pastoral training. Conducting a multiple case study qualitative study, the researcher interviewed 12 pastors with 2-6 years of ministry experience who had primary training in a specific category: higher education, on-the-job training, hands-on internships, or credentialing programs. The researcher utilized a transformational leadership framework and asked questions related to idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. The findings suggest each training method (higher education, hands-on internship, on-the-job training, and credentialing programs) equipped pastors to demonstrate aspects of transformational leadership.

At the nonprofit organization that was the site of this study, Agency A, formerly incarcerated employees’ lack of appropriate professional work conduct was preventing them from maintaining successful employment. The Impact Of Crisis Intervention Team Training On Correctional Officer Burnout In A Southeastern State Prison, Jennifer L. Boyd

This dissertation sought to ascertain whether or not Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training could lower burnout in correctional officers (CO) in a Southeastern state prison system. Using an experimental learning theory in a quantitative, quasi-experimental approach, the researcher administered the pre-test and post-test assessments using Maslach Burnout Inventory to CO before CIT and 4-weeks after they completed CIT. The researcher concluded that CIT lowered burnout on CO in all areas of the MBI but was statistically significantly lower for emotional exhaustion and depersonalization.

This capstone project concentrated on the professionals working with children as part of SKC’s Early Start Intervention Program. The project’s objective was to discover local agencies' professional development training needs that serve Latinx families with disabled children between 2 to 8 years. Self-Perceived Assessment Of Undergraduate Leaders Competencies Through A Leadership Development Program, Ryan D. Newton

This ex-post facto research study identified changes in participants’ self-perceptions of their competence in six key leadership competencies, as reported from a pre-training and post-training self-assessment. This study also identified the relationship between the participants’ self-reported changes and their persistence in enrollment at the University upon completion of the leadership training program. This quantitative study analyzed secondary data (N=201) from a large, four-year, public research institution in the southeast United States. Paired samples t-tests were used to determine that the self-reported change among participants was statistically significant (p<.05) from the pre- to the post-training self-assessment. Further, this study then examined the relationship between participants’ self-reported mean change and their persistence at the institution, defined as having graduated or continuing enrollment one year after completion of the leadership training program. A logistic regression was utilized to identify a negative predictive relationship between participants’ mean change and their likelihood of persistence. Implications for competency-based learning were discussed in relationship to student affairs practice.
