The purpose of this dissertation was to examine the deadliest shooting that has happened on a community college campus. The following research questions guided this dissertation study: (1) What was the law enforcement response to the deadliest community college campus shooting in history? (2) Did previous mass shootings inform the law enforcement response to the deadliest community college campus shooting? (3) What implications for practice can be derived by studying the deadliest of these shootings? This has created a growing interest in the issue of disaster risk reduction among the global population. Past research has shown that proper planning and the use of protective measures can reduce the effects of a disastrous event. The purpose of this study was to survey the secondary schools of Oregon to determine the status of audio-visual in-service education programs. It is the intent of the researcher to select from current literature general principles directly related to audio-visual in-service education. After identifying the principles through a careful study of the literature, a questionnaire will be constructed to determine how well the principles are being met by Oregon secondary schools.
