Perceptions Of The Tennessee State Legislature Toward University Of Tennessee Extension, Martin Roscoe Koon

The primary purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of the Tennessee State Legislature toward University of Tennessee Extension and to identify factors that might affect these perceptions. The population for this descriptive study included 131 members of the Tennessee State Legislature. Members of the Tennessee Legislature were selected for study because current and future programs of University of Tennessee Extension are directly affected by the legislator’s perception of University of Tennessee Extension.

Respondents were primarily white and male between the ages of 40 and 69. Respondent’s party affiliation was split pretty even between democrats and republicans. The …

The purpose of this study was to ascertain if there is a dominant Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) profile for Resident Assistants at three institutions of higher education in the southeast United States, and to determine if that personality profile differs based on demographic information. The MBTI is a forced-choice personality indicator that characterizes an individual as extroverted or introverted, sensing or intuitive, thinking or feeling, and judging or perceiving.

PURPOSE: To determine if six weeks of plyometric training can improve an athlete's agility. DESIGN AND SETTINGS: Subjects were divided into a plyometric training and a control group. The plyometric training group participated in a six week plyometric training program. The control group did not perform any plyometric training techniques and were told to refrain from initiating any lower extremity training program. SUBJECTS: Twenty eight subjects were randomly assigned to 2 groups, a plyometric training group and a control group. Hispanic Students' Mathematics Achievement In Tennessee: Comparing With Asian Students, Yan Wang

The purpose of this study was to investigate mathematics achievement differences of Hispanic students and Asian students in terms of English proficiency, gender, grade level, and Socioeconomic Status (SES). Interactions between English proficiency and gender, English proficiency and SES, and English proficiency, gender, and SES were hypothesized. The mathematics scores of 6675 fourth and eighth-grade and Hispanic and Asian students were selected from the 2005 Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) to explore achievement differences. Analysis of data revealed Asians significantly outscore Hispanics on the mathematics achievement test of the TCAP, regardless of English proficiency, gender, or SES. The difference between …

Many studies have been done on the different styles of professional staff development for teachers and administrators in the area of technology and its integration into the classroom. One element has been consistently ignored in recent studies, the amount of money being spent on staff development.
