The purpose of this study is twofold: 1. To investigate the reported conclusions of several experiments in the area of concept attainment that have utilized the Hovland (1952) information processing model; 2. To explore implications of the above model, specifically those pertaining to subjects concept attainment performance over successive presentation of different concepts derived from the same experimental universe.

One of the purposes of this study was to show how concepts could be strengthened through the use of slides and accompanying discussion questions which were aimed at developing a child's thinking. The questions would be directed toward the development of three levels of thinking: concrete, abstract and critical.
