This study was undertaken to (1) determine the present physical fitness level of boys enrolled in physical education classes at Wilbur High School, Wilbur, Washington; (2) test this program and ascertain the level of development; (3) determine the value of weight training in physical education; (4) determine if this program is suitable to a small high school; and (5) aid teachers in developing and instructing students in a weight-training program in the ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades.
