Functional analysis has proven to be an effective way of determining the function of problem behaviors. However, this process can consume a great deal of time and resources. Also, the majority of analyses are conducted with subjects greater than six years of age with unfamiliar persons conducting the analysis. Therefore, there is a need to examine a method that will expend less time and resources, and to determine if this new method will be effective with subjects in an early childhood setting. The purpose of the study was to determine how superintendents in the state of Utah perceived their role as superintendent. It focused on: (1) how superintendents perceived their role as superintendents, (2) what demands were affecting their role, (3) if superintendents in different-size school districts perceived their role differently, (4) how the superintendent-board relationship was viewed by the superintendents, and (5) what the superintendents considered to be the greatest problems facing them in Utah today.

It was the objective of this study to determine the common denominators involved with the work-related fatalities and their strengths.
An analysis using the X2 statistic was conducted on all the work related fatalities reported to the Utah Industrial Commission during the period January 1, 1976, through December 31, 1978.
It was determined that Age and Time on the Job were the two areas with the greatest significance difference as common denominators. It was concluded that there was a need for training programs to offset the effects of both age and time on the job.

A study of shorthand usage as perceived by selected Ogden, Utah business executives was conducted to determine if curriculum changes must be made in Business Education Department programs in order to meet the secretarial training requirements of Ogden, Utah Business. Data were collected by telephone interview from 84 businessmen who employed one or more secretaries. These data were stratified according to type of business and size of business. Secretarial employment was stratified according to shorthand as a job requirement and to shorthand utilization of the job. The main objective of the Cedar High School (C.H.S.) study was to develop a curriculum that would be useful to the social studies educator interested in teaching critical thinking skills to high school students. The model for teaching critical thinking that was followed during the C.H.S. study included three requirements. The first was to identify those critical thinking skills that would be useful to students during discussion of controversial issues. Purpose
The purpose of this study was to determine how Utah educators and school board members view the future of education in the state. This was done by comparing the ratings for importance and the predictions on the time of occurrence of 53 educational events. An event was an incident or happening which might effect the education of the state. The hypotheses were based on the assumption that the various educational groups would hold differing views concerning the future of Utah education.
