An Experimental Cost Index Model For The Analysis Of Service Cost Differentials Of Iowa School Districts, Dean W. Meier

Dissertations and Theses @ UNI

The purpose of the study was to construct a service cost index (SCI) for a sample of Iowa school districts and to use the SCI to examine the relationship school district size has to efficiency of educational services delivery. The SCI was based upon the computation of the cost of delivering a fixed market basket of services to a typical student in each of 44 randomly selected Iowa high schools. The Relationship Between The Wisc-R Digit Span And The K-Abc Sequential Processing Scale, And Specific Reading Retardation, Joseph A. Bernard

Dissertations and Theses @ UNI

Evidence exists that children retarded in reading achievement perform poorly on sequential tasks (Jorm, 1983) like the WISC-R Digit Span subtest. Success on the WISC-R Digit Span depends on maintaining the order of the digits presented. An additional task in the Digit Span subtest is repeating the digits backwards but still maintaining the order. The Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children (K-ABC) has a subscale called the Sequential Processing Scale consisting of three subtests that all measure sequential processing (Kaufman & Kaufman, 1983). The subtests are: Hand Movements, Number Recall, and Word Order. Hand Movements consists of a series of hand …
