Fortune Magazine has "The 100 Best Companies To Work For." HR Magazine has " The 50 Best Small and Medium Companies to Work For." Every year thousands of companies compete to become a " Best Company." This research study examines the five dimensions that establish a "Best Company." Extent research and literature has been examined to further understand each of the dimensions. Representatives of four "Best Companies" were interviewed to gain insight into policies, practices and procedures that have made each organization a "Best Company." This paper first examines the reasons why having advanced education is important to career success. It then examines the reasons why it may not be important. Both sides of this argument have merit, at least to some extent. Some benefits of advanced education are psychological changes, networking, internship experience and higher pay. Some drawbacks of advanced education are no guarantee in higher pay, loss of work experience, other ways to advance, financial burden, and discrimination. Based on the findings of this research people should attain advanced education because the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

The purpose of this qualitative research study is to examine the topic of work-related passion. The first purpose of the study was to help individuals and organizations objectively define work-related passion. The second purpose was to discover examples and traits of work-related passion in the sample group of individuals and organizations. The third purpose was to better understand the relationship of work-related passion to heightened energy, performance and dedication at work. This qualitative study involved face-to-face 60-minute interviews with 17 executive level, middle management level, front-line employees, and retirees of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, educational institutions and government agencies. A Study Of The Workplace Attitudes Of Professional And Nonprofessional Staff In The Ambulatory Care Setting, Britton John Lui

This study examined 439 employees in the ambulatory care facility of a large, academic medical center. It specifically examined difference in the workplace attitudes of professional and nonprofessional staff. Multidimensional measures of satisfaction and organizational citizenship behaviors were used, along with a measure of affective organizational commitment. Primary results suggest that professional (licensed) staff are more satisfied, more committed, and more likely to express organizational citizenship behaviors than are nonprofessional (unlicensed) staff. Secondary results suggest that professional licensure is correlated with satisfaction and organizational commitment and that the two constructs are potentially correlated with each other.
