Music Times: A Music Learning Game, Emily Woo

Music Times is a two dimensional educational video game with the purpose of gamifying learning of musical concepts. It has elements of adventure and visual novel games, and incentivizes the player to learn music to explore new levels. It is developed in the Unity game engine, scripted in C#, and targeted for mobile devices. It has six working levels: three lesson levels and three corresponding challenge levels. Each level contains slight differences in visual and aural feel.

The purpose of this project was to create a method for designing a scholarly journal by managing all design and print aspects of a Volume II, student produced, journal. The journal, Paideia, included student research papers and alumni successes in the workplace from California Polytechnic State University’s Political Science Department. Responsibilities included inserting text and photos from the Political Science committee, and making a cohesive layout and design with all elements given. The LAES Pocketbook for Filmmaker Enthusiasts was written to be an essential tool for Cal Poly students to use when approaching the broad spectrum of film making. This introductory pocketbook tackles many of the confusions and questions that arise when first starting with film making and utilizes the equipment available at Cal Poly to make the film making process simpler for students. Printed out on standard 8.5" x 11" paper, this portable pocketbook is meant to be folded, stapled down the spine, and carried with the student on their filming endeavors.

The purpose of this project was to create an instructional booklet that would act as a supplement for high school floral design students and instructors as they created the five Western Line design styles. The booklet includes high-quality photographs and step-by-step instructions on how to construct each of the Western Line designs (vertical, horizontal, formal, informal and l-shape). It also includes a profile for each arrangement and a list of materials that are needed to create each design. The researcher designed two types of websites for Eichler Homes in Thousand Oaks. The researcher created both responsive and non-responsive websites.

The researcher performed a study and observed the data. Afterwards, the data was analyzed to see people’s preferences and which one they liked best.

Most of the general public is not knowledgeable about responsive design. In business, people need to decide for themselves if responsive design is worth the investment since most people aren’t aware of it.
