Career Pathways

It is the mission of the Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) Program at Old Dominion University (ODU) to introduce graduate students and post-doctoral fellows to the diverse roles, the responsibilities, and the rewards of an academic career. In doing so it focuses particularly on the teaching and service roles sometimes not included in doctoral training. Fundamental research skills, such as grant writing, publishing, and academic job searching, are also addressed.

The PFF program offers a ‘Preparing Future Faculty Certificate’ to graduate students who document completion of specific activities related to preparing for an academic career. Any ODU and NSU degree-seeking graduate …

The renovation of the Spirit Room in the Memorial Union was completed. The space now hosts the historical perspective of our Black Bears and more specifically Bananas. Original costumes have been placed on display as well as Banana’s story.

Active Minds, a student organization, collaborated with the Counseling Center Outreach and Education Office to host a highly impactful suicide prevention program called “Send Silence Packing” which is a traveling exhibit of over 2,000 backpacks, most of which belonged to students who died by suicide.

We were thrilled to have CRSF join five other research units on campus to be selected as a new UMaine Signature Research area supporting Sustainable Forests & Forest-Based Economy. The Fall Enrollment component collects student enrollment counts by level of student, enrollment status, gender and race/ethnicity. In addition, first-time student retention rates and the student-to-faculty ratio are collected. Every other year data on residence of first-time undergraduates is required and in opposite years, enrollment by student age is required to be reported.

12-Month Enrollment 2015-16, Uno Office Of Institutional Effectiveness

IPEDS 12-month Enrollment

The 12-Month Enrollment component collects unduplicated student enrollment counts and instructional activity data for an entire 12-month period. Using the instructional activity data reported, a full-time equivalent (FTE) student enrollment at the undergraduate and graduate level is estimated. Institutions with Doctor's-professional practice students will also report the FTE enrollment of those students. NCES uses the FTE enrollment to produce indicators such as expenses by function per FTE as reported in the IPEDS Data Feedback Report.
