During a time when the U.S. trails in college degree attainment, it is imperative for school districts, higher education institutions, educational agencies and families to be aware of programs that work. This Power Point presentation accompanies the webinar that was conducted for attendees of the OSCA-NOSCA Workshops in the Winter/Spring of 2012 to provide an opportunity for further discussion of how the Eight Components and Parent/Family/Community Partnership materials that were received can be utilized to transform counseling practice and create a college-going culture in one's school/district/community. It provided time to share best practices, ask questions and share concerns and in general, more fully reflect on and digest the many topics that were introduced at the workshop.

At the Counselor Roundtable Session, held on Tuesday, January 24th at the Columbus Renaissance Hotel, attendees were presented, in no particular order, with a list of ten “Hot Topics” to discuss. In the interest of time, attendees voted for the five topics they were most interested in discussing and those are listed below the master list, in order of interest level. Each topic was discussed for only 10 minutes with participants suggesting strategies/solutions. When possible, the person providing the idea/resource is listed by name and school.
