This presentation will help faculty to become familiar with Muslim values and customs that might affect classroom relationships and learning. The Muslim and Christian worldviews are in conflict, which is reflected in day to day Muslim practices such as outward manifestation of their faith and practice, in lifestyle and their general view of community structures. This presentation will provide practical suggestions and how to build bridges towards healthy intercultural classroom atmosphere.

The College of Science at Purdue University, through its Chemistry, Life Science, Physics, and Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences departments, delivers research grade instruments to high schools throughout central Indiana.
This project provides an opportunity for young students, from all backgrounds, to have hands-on learning experiences with instruments used in research laboratories today. These experiences increase the students' and teachers' skills and understanding of modern scientific technology.

Since the events of Sept 11, 2001, military service members have experienced frequent war-zone deployments, causing issues of separation, anxiety, and stress in military youth. Using established learning models and curriculum development tools, learn how to plan, implement, and evaluate after-school programming for military youth, enabling them to build resiliency and develop life skills to deal with these challenges.

This qualitative study examined the intercultural experiences of three adult educators who taught English in Istanbul, Turkey. Taylor’s (1994) learning model of becoming interculturally competent helped make sense of the learning processes of the intercultural experiences the participants shared and reflected on in this study.
