Problem. It is the researcher's opinion that most of the educational administrators in Iran have not fully realized the significance of practice teaching programs in developing and providing competent teachers. As a result, there is no planned design, no guidelines, no model to perform and fulfill the practice-teaching experience, i.e., the absence of a consistent program that includes a practice-teaching component.

The purpose of this study was to identify the feasibility of implementing a year-round high school program. Specific attention was given the following topics: (1) The process used in considering the feasibility of implementing a year-round program; (2) The steps taken in implementing such a program; (3) The effect of year-round operation on potential areas of concern. The Problem. Presently Chinese bilingual educators are divided in their opinions on the desirability of introducing initial reading in Chinese in an American school setting. A review of research studies found that data on the effects of Chinese reading instruction in a bilingual program was lacking. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of administrative pre-service training under Ryan Act programs. The study was concerned specifically with (1) determining the competencies considered most important by principals, (2) determining the adequacy of training on identified competencies, (3) determining if principals from the elementary, junior high, and high school levels had different competency needs, and (4) determining if principals from the elementary, junior high, and high school levels view the adequacy of their training differently. This study investigated the relationship between various forms of intervention and gender on the moral development of junior high school students. The three types of intervention identified and studied were: (a) a classroom values education program, (b) crisis counseling, and (c) a combination classroom-counseling intervention. The cognitive-developmental approach of Lawrence Kohlberg served as the theoretical base for this study. In order to determine the effects of the two variables on the moral reasoning of children, 195 junior high school students were divided into three treatment groups and one control group. When considering specific instructional areas associated with the performance of teachers, do teachers and administrators in the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) school system differ in their perceptions regarding the appropriateness of inservice education programs? Procedure. Three sample groups were derived from the population of SDA educators in California. These groups included: administrators at the district level; administrators in elementary and secondary schools; and elementary and secondary teachers. Problem. Teacher strikes have increased from a single strike in the late fifties to approximately 180 in the past year, 1980. This has presented quite a dilemma for the public school sector. The problem in this study was to investigate the attitudes held towards teachers' strikes by public school Teachers, administrators, board of trustee members, and members of the general public. The study also attempted to determine if there was a significant difference in the attitudes, held by these groups in communities which had experienced a teacher strike and those who had not.
