The objective of the study was to identify if an impact from these structures is positive or negative and the extent to which it exists, positively or negatively. The research aimed to answer the following question: to what extent do the practices of compatible teaching, social emotional education, and classroom community building have an impact on student behavior, achievement, and attendance?

This study will show that by using technology to spark an interest in science curriculum and providing subsequent reading material related to that curriculum, educators will notice an improvement in their students' reading comprehension skills. Two classes from a high school in the Phoenix school district of comparable reading comprehension abilities were given two inquiry-based lesson plans to execute.

This was accomplished by comparing short-term academic achievement of one group of students, who received content utilizing brain-based instructional strategies, to a comparable group of students who received similar content trough traditional delivery methods.

The purpose of this project was to explore the dynamics of project based learning (PBL) methodology and how this approach intersects with situated learning and aspects of adult identity negotiation, an important issue in second language acquisition. Another purpose of this thesis is to assess the effectiveness of PBL for adult learners by reviewing literature related to PBL and presenting data that was collected in the context of a PBL project carried out by adult ESL students.

This thesis aims to show ways in which research assignments vary, despite the oft-held assumption that these assignments are fundamentally the same, regardless of discipline. for this purpose, research assignments were collected from insructors at one community college. These assignments were analyzed in terms of the following six dimensions: assignment title; topic selection; purpose; approach; format; and source requirements. The assignments were then examined for patterns in their variations across the disciplines, and across instructors within the same discipline.
