The problem of this study was to determine the effect of technology education units on science achievement of third graders. To solve this problem, the following hypotheses were tested: 1) Within a third grade classroom, technology education units of instruction will affect students' achievement on the Science Tests For Higher Standards more than non-participants in such instruction. 2)Within a third grade classroom, technology education units of instruction will affect students' achievement on the Science Standards of Learning more than non-participants in such instruction.

To guide this study the following hypotheses were established: 1. Students who take responsibility for their academic outcomes will out perform those students who do not in Marketing Education courses; 2. Female students will take more responsibility for their academic outcomes and will outscore males in the same Marketing Education courses.
