" Although our society has become increasingly preoccupied with eating and weight, it is only relatively recently that publicity has been given to eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia" (Hendrick, 1985, p. 275). For purposes of this paper, the author is only going to deal with bulimia.
