The purpose of this project was to gauge the interest levels of Ag in Motion for the Central Coast. Positive feedback would allow the project to continue on after this project is finished. Ag in Motion is an important asset to middle school aged children because they have the opportunity to learn about agriculture and it’s value. This is especially important considering California is number one producer of agricultural commodities in the United States.

The purpose of this project was to create an instructional booklet that would act as a supplement for high school floral design students and instructors as they created the five Western Line design styles. The booklet includes high-quality photographs and step-by-step instructions on how to construct each of the Western Line designs (vertical, horizontal, formal, informal and l-shape). It also includes a profile for each arrangement and a list of materials that are needed to create each design. Nearly 52% of the 72,445 [state] students enrolled in agricultural education are Hispanic. However, when many of these programs participate in leadership development activities beyond the local level, the diversity of their participants fails to mirror that of their enrollment. Many teachers are at a loss as to what they can do to cultivate the talent of these students.

This purpose of this project is to provide a lesson plan and additional presentations for high school agriculture teachers. The lessons are based on vegetable disease identification. There are few high school agriculture departments that are teaching this material. This project provides an example lesson plan that can be used by the teacher if need be. By including numerous presentation slides the teacher can adapt the included lesson or create a new one that will fit their class and school site best.

The purpose of this project was to create a less plan for high school students to help them understand the importance of water conservation. Through this understanding hopefully generate some ideas to solving the water crisis. The issue of water allocation and usage has been a long standing issue that California has been facing. This lesson plan will give the students a gateway to a topic that is only briefly talked about in the majority of the curriculums.

The purpose of this project was to create an up-to-date curriculum for livestock quality assurance for county fairs throughout the United States to utilize if they desire to do so. The project included creating a PowerPoint presentation, a take home handout that summarizes the PowerPoint, an assessment based on the PowerPoint, and a website to make the material accessible to the public free of charge.
