The purpose of this study was to develop a comprehensive system for the evaluation of the elementary school principal which would encompass the following aspects of the position: (1) the competencies of the position, weighted in order of importance; (2) the method of evaluation for each competency; and (3) the evaluator for each competency. The system was designed so that it could be utilized in any urban or suburban elementary school, in any district. An Investigation Of The Self-Reported Problems Of Mexican, Mexican-American And Anglo-American Adolescents, Marta Urteaga Pippin

This study utilized a cross-cultural comparative approach to investigate: (1) whether differences existed in problems reported by three groups of students of both sexes, Mexican, Mexican-American, and Anglo-American; and (2) the extent to which these differences were influenced by ethnicity, sex, or socioeconomic status, or the interaction among those variables. The STS Youth Inventory--Form G and a Personal Data Sheet were administered in the Spring of 1979 to 710 students from five high schools in Northern California. Purpose. This seven-week high school English literature study purported to compare the effects of two combinations of novels and their collateral curricular treatments. DUO A combined Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn with Knowles' A Separate Peace. DUO B combined the same Twain novel with Hentoff's I'm Really Dragged But Nothing Gets Me Down. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prospective bilingual teachers' attitude toward bilingual education. The study sought to determine if there was an influence on prospective teachers' attitudes by: (a) number of courses they had taken in bilingual education, (b) type of college they attended, and (c) number of years of teacher aide experience. The purpose of this study was to determine if the System of Multicultural Pluralistic Assessment (SOMPA) information which included the Adaptive Behavior Inventory for Children (ABIC) and the Estimated Learning Potential (ELP) was redundant of information on the teacher-scored Hahnemann Elementary School Behavior Scale (HESB) and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) subtest scores for male and female Black, White, and Chicano Learning Handicapped (LH) and Resource Specialist Program (RSP) fourth grade-age students. The Problem. The present study is an historical study of the educational impact of American church missionaries in the 19th and 20th centuries on the educational programs of Iran. Western church missionaries, particularly Americans, were among the earliest foreign influence to affect the Iranian educational programs.
