The Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI) (Wechsler, 1967) has long been one of the most widely used instruments for the assessment of preschool children's intelligence. The recently published Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence Revised (WPPSI-R) (Wechsler, 1989) was designed to replace the WPPSI as the instrument of choice for the purposes of making classification, placement, and program evaluation decisions. Thus, data concerning the comparability of the two instruments is of particular importance to educators.
