The purpose of this action research study is to examine scholarly recommendations on how to use clay to promote the social and emotional well-being of students in the high school ceramics classroom. This study enacts recommendations and strategies to enhance an existing curriculum to align with my school district’s educational goals of promoting social emotional learning (SEL). This study took place at a high school in Westchester County, New York in the fall of 2021. Building Bridges And Roads: A Phenomenological Exploration Of Feedback's Role In Writing Knowledge Transfer, Mckenna Fay Grove

Writing knowledge transfer is a cognitive practice where students apply skills gained in the composition classroom to other contexts, such as different disciplinary fields. While transfer sounds natural in theory, students often struggle to establish such connections independently, raising the question of how educators might promote successful transfer in their instructional practices. Especially with the transition to college, students tend to have difficulties linking the crucial skills presented in their high school English classes to other writing situations. The pioneers’ journey across Nebraska was rough and ever changing, and the same can be said for the educating of Nebraskans on the state’s history. Since the centennial of Nebraska statehood in 1967, changes to the education of Nebraska history has made students metaphorically traverse over both rough, hilly topics and flat, grassy lessons. These changes can be seen by examining sources from various Nebraska schools dating back to the 1960s. The variety and pace of Nebraska history curriculum change throughout these schools is wild and varied, with periods of little changes between the decades to overarching changes in only …
