Second-year head coach Trish Roberts returns all five starters from a team that posted a 19-8 overall record, and cruised to the regular-season Seaboard Conference title. Roberts continued the winning tradition of one of the most successful women’s basketball programs in the East. Over the past five years, the Black Bears have compiled a 106-37 record.

After finishing the regular season with a 13-1 conference record, Maine dropped a 60-47 contest to Northeastern in the Seaboard Conference Tournament. It was the fourth time in the past five years that the Black Bears have fallen to the Huskies in post-season play. …

Last year, Maine remained among the nation's college hockey elite with the team's second consecutive 30-win season and its second straight NCAA final four appearance. The Black Bears finished with a 31-14 overall record, and claimed their first HOCKEY EAST Championship.

Maine finished the regular season with a 17 -9 record, earning a first-round bye in the playoffs. The Black Bears 3-2 overtime victory over Northeastern and a 5-4 win over regular-season first-place finisher Boston College gave Maine the HOCKEY EAST Championship.
