This study evaluated the occupational preference among the Abonnema people and its implication jor educational development oj the Abonnema people. It is a survey studv. Data were collected from one hundred and ten (lID) respondents using research questionnaire and personal interview. Findings revealed that fishing, farming and trading were seen as the most preferred occupational activities ojthe Abonnenia people. These activities when related to the development oj education actually gave Abonnema people happiness and peace' It also enhanced friendliness and increased their economic well being.
