The continued rise of international student enrollment at institutions of higher education in the U.S. has brought with it a heightened urgency for student affairs professionals to not only understand the challenges facing our student populations, but to also create effective academic and social support structures on our campus. Utilizing institutional data, trends will be shared related to the social and academic integration of Chinese students as well as recommendations related to campus partnerships and successful programmatic interventions.

The purpose of this study was to compare the experiences of students residing in on-campus housing with those of students residing in fraternity/sorority housing, specifically to explore the differences in academic success, alcohol use, and perceptions of the living environment as a function of students’ living arrangement and gender. The researcher sampled 772 respondents from the aggregate results of five institutions that administered the ACUHO-I/EBI Resident Assessment and the AFA/EBI Fraternity/Sorority Assessment during the 2009—10 academic year. Coming To Canada To Study Factors That Influence Students Decisions To Participate In International Exchange, Jennifer Massey, Jeff Burrow

Increasing numbers of students are participating in study abroad programs. Outcomes associated with these programs have been studied extensively, but relatively little is known about what motivates and influences students to participate. This study investigated factors that motivate and influence students to study on exchange and explored how these factors vary by social identity. The findings support the development of programs, services, and marketing that meet students’ needs.
