In this session, we will present three components of a project looking at family learning in free-choice settings that emerged from this request. The components will include: a literature review developed for the NPS; complementary involvement of NPS personnel in reviewing literature and their voices; and a look at novices and experts in interpretation and research and their roles in crowd-sourced research. The presentations will be followed by round-table discussions, where participants will explore the ideas further.

Arshad Abd Samad

The teaching of grammar is a challenging task as teachers need to present technical information about the language in such a way that would interest and attract the attention of students. In addition to the lesson itself, the presentation sequence of grammatical items as in the grammar syllabus can also influence how well students respond. Teachers must acquire the appropriate knowledge, skills and dispositions to effectively meet the demands and challenges of the teaching profession (Darling-Hammond, 2006, 2010; Shulman, 2000).
