The primary purpose of this research was to conduct a systematic study that investigated ways other than awarding certificates of completion to determine the effectiveness of community colleges' occupational-technical certificate programs. These programs are designed to provide students with the skills necessary to enter the workforce or receive promotions in existing employment, and they attract students whose primary goals are to gain the skills necessary to be more productive workers.

The purpose of this study was to develop a list of the most relevant external environmental constituencies and responses to those elements that should be used by facility administrators of urban advanced technology centers. A three-round Delphi research method was conducted to garner the perceptions of the panel participants. The President's Advisory Council and the Board of Directors of the National Coalition of Advanced Technology Centers were asked to nominate facility administrators of urban advanced technology centers to serve as expert panel participants. The purpose of this study was to determine the significance of marketing occupational work experience on urban marketing teachers' prioritization of curriculum content areas delivered through instruction. This study tested a hypothesis of difference, using the variable of years of experience in marketing occupations as the catalyst for four research questions. By identifying the effect of occupational experience in marketing and its relationship to the prioritization of curriculum content for urban secondary marketing programs, the importance of occupational experience on curriculum content could be explored from an educational viewpoint.

The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of two career counseling interventions upon the career decision-making self-efficacy of two groups of undecided high school seniors. The setting of the study was a large public high school in a metropolitan area in the Southeastern region of the United States. In order to identify students' initial levels of confidence and certainty for making career and educational plans, a brief self-report survey was administered to seniors. Seniors appearing to possess low levels of confidence and certainty were given the Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale (CDMSES) as a diagnostic screening measure. Forty-eight …

The purpose of this study was to determine vocational supervisors' perceptions of staff development needs of urban vocational teachers. The population for this study consisted of the vocational education supervisors in the urban areas of Virginia with a population of 50,000 or more. The Delphi technique was employed to gather the data from the supervisors.
