This practicum is concerned with increasing teacher awareness of the gifted child identification and referral criteria by utilizing the four following information dissemination techniques: (1) One-on-one contacts with each classroom teacher by researcher at practicum site (2) Distributing gifted child characteristics information cards with referral system flow chart created by author featuring an original comparison of gifted student traits to a modern ice cream parlor menu (3) Administering pre and post surveys (4) Arranging tours of local gifted resource center for classroom teachers from practicum site.
