Abstract
This article is based on an ethnographic study in Bangladesh that analyzed Grade 10 students' perspectives on the learning of science regarding peace and conflict resolution, and the use of science in their everyday lives to negotiate peace and resolve conflicts. Globally, women engage in a multiplicity of agentic roles advocating for peace in their communities. Their involvement comes from an experienced or perceived need and the desire to do something about it. Women are recognized as crucial and competent actors in building peace, in post-war, and post genocide, and, in peace processes and negotiations and women’s community peacebuilding. Environmental hazard poses major threat to humanity and development. Nigeria government has put in place environmental programme and policies to restore environmental quality and to sustain it, but much has not been achieved. The Environment has been seriously and continuously subjected to enormous degradation due to natural and man-made activities which has rendered it unhealthy and non-habitable.
