The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between the effect of tablet computer applications and the reading skills of students with autism. Two subjects diagnosed with autism selected by using a convenient sampling method participated in this study. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between one's understanding of his/her own learning disability (LO) and coping strategies he/she employs to mitigate the effect of the disability. The subjects (N = 120) of this study were students with learning disabilities who attended and graduated from a private school in Richmond, Virginia between 1976 and 1997. A self-developed questionnaire with two parts was used to collect data for this study. The data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. A review of the literature indicated that students with learning disabilities graduate from high school without a solid background in mathematics. It is the responsibility of the special education teacher to find and implement methods to reverse this trend. The purpose of this study was to determine if a relationship existed between regular elementary teacher personality types and their attitudes toward elementary age students with learning disabilities. Subjects (n= 50) were regular elementary teachers grades two through six from five randomly sampled elementary schools in Virginia. 62% (n= 31) of the questionnaires were returned. The attitudes of the selected elementary teachers were determined by self-developed survey questionnaire using a Likert Scale. Education is designed to prepare all students for productive citizenship. Students with disabilities, however, are employed at lower rates, earning less money, and accruing fewer benefits than their nondisabled peers. In order to design a curriculum that targets employment as an outcome, special educators must determine the needs and expectations of employers. This study compared the perceptions of employers, special education teachers, to learning disabled students .Employers and special education teachers rated work related, communication, personal, and social skills similarly while students with learning disabilities formed in congruent perceptions of the working world.
