The purpose of this phenomenological qualitative study was to describe the K-12 teachers' perception of school bullying, prevention, and effective coping approaches in the Southeastern region. The central phenomenon of the study focused on K-12 teachers' perspective of bullying. The theory guiding the study was social cognitive as it related to observing individuals through the lens of lived experiences, social interactions, modeling, and self-efficacy. The purpose of this case study was to discover the perceptions of alternative school teachers regarding how they define, intervene, and detect incidents of cyberbullying in their classrooms at Rock City Alternative School (pseudonym). The theory guiding this study is Albert Bandura’s social learning theory and Herbert Kelman’s social influence theory. Bandura (1977) believes that most human behavior is learned through observation, imitation, and modeling. In social influence theory, Kelman (1958) provided a stable foundation for understanding influences by socializing media. Additionally, this study explored coaches’, school counselors’, and school leadership team members’ experiences of hazing among middle and high school students. This qualitative research study, applying aspects of van Manen’s framework for hermeneutic phenomenological research, was conducted to investigate the narratives of relationally aggressive girls of color. The study focused on nine adolescent girls of color who were ages 14-17 years old and exhibited aggressive/bullying behaviors representing the ethnic groups of Black/African American, Latina/Hispanic American, Native American, and other, which included two or more racial identities combined. This study examines the prevalence of bullying in urban and rural schools in Mississippi. Students at eight middle schools completed the Olweus Bully/Victim Questionnaire to identify bullies and bully victims. The results of the study showed that approximately 50% of students in both urban and rural schools were identified as being bullied once or more during the current school term. There was no significant difference in the prevalence of bullying at urban and rural schools based on students who attended the eight middle schools who participated in the study.
