Education is something that everyone deserves; however, throughout the USA, there are extreme inequalities in the education system. In Illinois specifically, districts in affluent neighborhoods, such as districts 204 and 203, have graduation rates more than 10% above the state average, along with more opportunities like clubs, extracurriculars, sports, and easier access to tutoring. Conversely, districts such as 189 and 131, which are in less affluent areas, see graduation rates 10% below the state average, as well as fewer opportunities for their students as stated in the Illinois State Report Cards. Around the world, nearly 1.3 billion children are unable to access the internet, hindering their ability to engage with digital learning and converse with one another (US Census Bureau, 2020). This problem has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, where most students were forced to move online to learn. The problem presents itself in three ways. First, a lack of accessible connection — traditional internet connections are far too expensive, costing thousands of dollars on average. Year after year, the large majority of students and 90% of parents in the United States have agreed that sufficient early career education needs to be presented in all schools. However, out of the annual 3.7 million high school graduates in the United States, only 44% have a definitive career goal. This is primarily due to the fact that current early career education is rare, as well as unaffordable to many families. Vision is a recurring six-week-long program designed for students enrolled in grades 7-9 to find their true passion. Each week, students are presented with a new career field …
