Most student affairs professionals will serve in a managerial and/or supervisory role at some point in their careers, but only a limited number of higher education graduate preparatory programs have required coursework focusing on this competency area. This situation is disconcerting, as there seems to be an assumption within the student affairs field that new professionals have the formal training and experiences needed to immediately be placed into these managerial and/or supervisory roles. The purpose of this study was to investigate the preferred behavioral management strategies among 3rd - 5th grade teachers. The study explored the main discipline problems that these teachers experience in their classrooms and how they handle them. Library created instructional videos can enhance library instruction in face to face classes, online classes, and at service points. Some libraries do not have a single person dedicated to video creation, and often create videos on an ad hoc basis. This presentation will detail the efforts of a large university library to create a cohesive management and development plan for library instructional videos, as part of a larger information literacy program.
