Basically speaking, it is important for pupils to attend school and to be present and to participate in ways in which the subject matter itself requires. The pride of every educational specialist in the secondary schools requires and expects such attendance and participation. None are so zealous, however, as to deny the pupil the innate necessity of excuse for legitimate reasons.
