The purpose of this project was designed to give students and their family's additional support in language arts through a technologically facilitated means to review the skills and strategies that are covered in one theme of the first grade Houghton Mifflin Reading Program. This project provides this additional instruction via a DVD which models ways for the students to practice spelling, practice sight words, reinforce the grammar shills of nouns and verbs and review definitions of vocabulary words.

This study will look at at how to better student achievement in an Algebra II course. Specifically this study examines two different modifications made during the second semester of an Algebra II course taught at a high school in Riverside County. The modifications that were made were based on a detailed literature review that suggested looking at how students learn while using PowerPoint software as an instructional tool and at the same time investigate the consequence of rearranging a fairly common and predetermined curriculum pattern.

This project examines an online system for tracking class participation points. The system addresses two primary issues: how to quantify class participation and how to report class participation. This will serve all stakeholders: for students and parents, quantifying participation conveys a sense of objectivity (crucial if participation is to be fairly included in the grade) ; for teachers, the daily collection and collation of partcipation data ensures that the data is reliable, i.e., worthy of including in a student's grade.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the motivational affects of Transactional Strategies Instruction (TSI) and generative themes applications in the effort to change students' attitude and behavior in reading novels and volume reading materials to improve ninth grade reading comprehension. This study examines the use of aesthetics in the art education curriculum as a strategy for building oral language skills and critical thinking skills. In this study reproduced artworks were used to stimulate discussion; students learned to scan paintings using a technique called aesthetic scanning during which they learn how to look at a painting orally through guided questioning by the classroom teacher. It was concluded that providing oral language opportunities through the implementation of the aesthetic scanning program was an effective way to promote oral language skills and critical thinking skills in the kindergarten classroom.
