The purpose of this starred paper is to find effective interventions to teach basic math skills to students with learning disabilities. This research is broken down into three main interventions: Technology models, Number lines, and Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA). I analyzed data from ten research studies and found that these efficient interventions help students with learning disabilities increase not only their math abilities but also their self-esteem.

The attention toward the mathematics achievement of U.S. students in general education, when they took the national and international assessments, has risen (Przychodzin et al., 2004). However, a limited amount of research focusing on effective mathematics instruction was completed (Baker, Gersten, & Lee, 2002).
