Jurnal Inovasi Pendidikan IPA
This research aims to determine the prospective science teachers' mastery level of science process skills (SPS), the mastery level of SPS indicators, and the prospective science teachers' mastery level of SPS based on gender. This study used a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. Purposive sampling techniques are used and obtain 23 prospective science teachers during the last two years at the Universitas Negeri Manado. The research instrument used interview guidelines and observation sheets. The results showed (1) the prospective science teachers' mastery level of SPS in practicum activity at the laboratory is 80% categorized as sufficient; (2) the mastery …
Remote Laboratory For Nuclear Security Education, Anthony R. Galindo, Craig Marianno
Remote Laboratory For Nuclear Security Education, Anthony R. Galindo, Craig Marianno
International Journal of Nuclear Security
Laboratory experiences for online students are very limited. To fill this gap, educators in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at Texas A&M University developed a series of radiation detection experiments for their remote students. Radiation detection is only one piece of nuclear security. The objective of the current research is to describe the development and execution of three online laboratories that investigate the basic application of physical security sensors that use light, ultrasonics, and heat to detect adversaries. This laboratory complements lecture material from the department’s Nuclear Security System and Design course. Using the Remote Desktop Application, students connect to …

Scientific reports of Bukhara State University
Abstract. It can be shown that the following qualitative changes in the psyche fully reflect the potential of the student and students: this is an increase in self-awareness; Improvement of self-management processes, growth of intellectual abilities (mental shift, in-depth analysis of the material, identification of patterns, search for broad analogies). The process of teaching students should also be considered from the point of view of the extent to which this education is provided with elements of preparation for the independent acquisition of knowledge. At the same time, self-study is considered a key component of education. Independent reading means the formation …
Tools Enabling A Student Who Is Blind In A Liberal Arts Chemistry Laboratory Course, Jessica Michael, H. David Wohlers
Tools Enabling A Student Who Is Blind In A Liberal Arts Chemistry Laboratory Course, Jessica Michael, H. David Wohlers
Journal of Science Education for Students with Disabilities
Chemistry laboratories ordinarily involve a number of visual observations and require qualitative and quantitative explanations of these observations. A student with blindness at Truman State University successfully completed the laboratory portion of the nonmajors liberal arts chemistry course with the assistance of a senior undergraduate chemistry education major, the guidance of a chemistry professor with blindness, and a variety of alternative laboratory methods. Volumes were measured using a notched syringe or the graduated cylinder pipet technique. Changes in color were measured by a Color Analysis Laboratory Sensor (CALS) and a Submersible Audio Light Sensor (SALS). Balance and Vernier probe measurements …

The distribution of services using information system technology greatly helps stakeholders. There were still frequent errors found in the management of scheduling lab work in the Laboratory services which had not using the laboratory information system yet. This paper presents the development of laboratory management information system which facilitate scheduling lab work, a case study at Electrical Engineering Laboratory of UniversitasNegeri Semarang. The steps of constructing this system started from the data collection phase, design phase, and construction phase. This information system was built by using laravel framework based on MVC (Model-View- Controller). The system was created by using PHP …

Development Of Accessible Laboratory Experiments For Students With Visual Impairments, Kc Kroes, Daniel Lefler, Aaron Schmitt, Cary A. Supalo
Journal of Science Education for Students with Disabilities
The hands-on laboratory experiments are frequently what spark students’ interest in science. Students who are blind or have low vision (BLV) typically do not get the same experience while participating in hands-on experiences due to accessibility. Over the course of approximately 9 months, common chemistry laboratory experiments were adapted and field tested for use in a residential school for the blind. These adaptations most commonly used a SciVoice Talking LabQuest and associated sensors, as well as other tactile methods.

Laboratory of the study Program is the on factor that imfluence the quality of student in the process of their study in Vocational Program . In order that, laboratory must become the crucial factor in producing qualified alumni. The quality of teaching ini laboratory in general was imfluenced some factors like: lecturer/instructur, curicullum, tools or su pported facilities in laboratory. For that reason, in this research we want to know the general of student in laboratory teaching. Factors that was identified included : degree of student satisfaction, quality of teaching, and laboratory supporting facilities . Output of this research is …

Broad Vision: The Art & Science Of Looking, Heather Barnett, John R. A. Smith
The STEAM Journal
Undergraduate students and academic staff from diverse disciplines in the arts and sciences investigated questions of mediated vision through a year-long interdisciplinary research project at the University of Westminster, London, United Kingdom. The Broad Vision project explored the perception and interpretation of microscopic worlds, and investigated the benefits and challenges of working across disciplinary divides in a university setting. This article describes the three-phase model for interdisciplinary learning and research developed through the project, providing a valuable case study for inquiry based art/science education.

Inquiry-Based Introductory Earth Science Laboratory Using Survey Equipment, Tamie J. Jovanelly

A laboratory assignment entitled was developed to give high-school students an opportunity to collect, analyze, and interpret data after they have been introduced to topographic maps and associated terminology. Survey equipment (automatic level, graduated staff, and tripod) is used to collect data with the goal of creating a topographic profile along a linear transect on campus. This assignment sets itself apart from traditional introductory earth science labs because the students are using instrumentation to collect data, rather than having a data set provided for them. The benefits of this assignment include: 1) further understanding of topographic maps, 2) practice with …
