The purpose of this phenomenological study was to understand the decision-making process of teachers, Kindergarten through twelfth grade, who left the urban setting in metropolitan Detroit. The theories that guided this study were Rotter’s locus of control and Condorcet’s decision theory as they investigated the experiences leading to teachers’ decisions to leave the urban setting within metropolitan Detroit. The purpose of this collective case study was to discover, describe, and understand 11 public, general, K–12 in-service teachers’ knowledge, experiences, interpretations, and perceptions of education law. In addition, the study investigated teachers’ critical decision-making processes during their daily activities and responsibilities in the education profession in selected areas such as student bullying, fights, grades, students with disabilities, and teachers’ and students’ rights. Three theories that guided the study were constructivism (Young & Collin, 2004), cognitive dissonance (Chapanis & Chapanis, 1964), and self-efficacy (Bandura, 1977). The purpose of this descriptive case study was to examine elementary teachers’ technology acceptance in the context of a student-supported professional development model in an elementary school located in the southern part of the United States. In this study, technology was defined as Internet, iPad™, or laptop use in a classroom environment as an instructional and learning tool. Face-to-face open-ended interviews, a survey, and archival data in the form of observations collected yearly as part of program evaluation for professional development were all used to answer the research questions.
