Melvin has been an active and engaged volunteer with IMSA and the IMSA Alumni Association since 2009, when he first joined the IMSA Alumni Association Cabinet and took the lead role in planning his 20-year reunion for his class. His volunteer efforts have increased every year since, and he has had a triple role as an IMSA alumnus, an IMSA parent, and an IMSA employee. Melvin has played a critical role in advancing the work of the IMSA Alumni Association, enhancing the tools and support needed for the Cabinet leaders to truly lead and execute programs.

In August 2012 Steve Crutchfield was appointed the Executive Vice President and Head of U.S. Options at NYSE Euronextin order to create a “more integrated and efficient operation”, and became CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of NYSE Amex Options LLC; all accomplished before he turned 40. He serves as the sole leader of the NYSE Euronext system. Institutions of higher education can benefit from using predictive modeling and data mining techniques to enhance capital and fundraising campaigns to yield higher levels of financial contributions. The purpose of this study was to enhance the sophistication of alumni fundraising by using predictive modeling and data mining techniques to address: (a) What factors are most likely to predict the likelihood of alumni making a financial contribution, and (b) What factors are most significant in predicting the amount of money alumni will contribute. Organizational Structure And Resources Of Alumni Associations At Public Senior Universities In The Southeastern United States, Robert M. Plummer

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The purpose of the quantitative study was to analyze the staffing patterns, organizational structures, funding resources, practice of resource allocation, technology use, size of alumni population, size of institution enrollment, and age of the institutions at senior public colleges and universities in the southeastern United States. These institutions were derived from the membership of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education [CASE] during the academic years 2010-2012 in the United States District III region, generally the Southeast to lower Mid-Atlantic states. The study was further limited to public, comprehensive institutions as determined by the Carnegie Classification system. Data were …

U.S. Senate Confirms Ouachita Alumna Jane Chu As National Endowment For The Arts Chairman, Trennis Henderson, Ouachita News Bureau

Press Releases

Dr. Jane Chu, a 1979 graduate of Ouachita Baptist University, was confirmed today by the U.S. Senate as chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts. Chu was nominated for the post in February by President Obama.

The White House is expected to make the official appointment in the coming days and Chu will begin her new role shortly thereafter, according to the National Endowment for the Arts.
