Epa – Partners Of Protection Of Tribal Environments, Americans For Indian Opportunity (Aio), Epa
Epa – Partners Of Protection Of Tribal Environments, Americans For Indian Opportunity (Aio), Epa
LaDonna Harris Native American Collection
This is a set of two copies of reports on the EPA/Tribal Leaders Environmental Forums entitled: ‘Partners for the Protection of Tribal Environments’ and the ‘EPA-Tribal Leaders Workshop’. The first copy of a final report covers activities undertaken by Americans for Indian Opportunity (AIO) under a contract from the Environmental Protection Agency to identify barriers to the protection of the environment on and around Tribal lands and to facilitate the development of options for overcoming those barriers. The second report aims to enhance tribes’ ability to be proactive rather than reactive, to identify strategic options, and find a way to …
An Account Of The Methodological Implementation Of Design-Based Research In The Chemistry Classroom Context, Esther Kibga, Emmanuel Gakuba, John Sentongo
An Account Of The Methodological Implementation Of Design-Based Research In The Chemistry Classroom Context, Esther Kibga, Emmanuel Gakuba, John Sentongo
Institute for Educational Development, East Africa
Design-Based Research (DBR) has recently received a significant amount of attention in the educational research literature of the 21st century. This work analyses the understanding of DBR as the research methodology, why, and how it can be applied in educational research to bring a practical outcome and improve educational practices. Besides, this work reflects on a step-by-step implementation of the Hands-on Instructional Model (HIM) designed to enhance the development of chemistry learners’ curiosity and problem-solving skills. Also, it gives a detailed description of the two prototypes of the first alteration cycle. A sample of 169 Senior Three chemistry students was …
Cai Tool-Supported Si Of Numbers: A Theoretical And Methodological Contribution, Francesca Maria Frittella
Cai Tool-Supported Si Of Numbers: A Theoretical And Methodological Contribution, Francesca Maria Frittella
International Journal of Interpreter Education
Numbers are an area of interpreting that is particularly prone to human error. Thanks to recent advancements in automatic speech recognition (ASR) and artificial intelligence (AI) technology, computer-assisted interpreting (CAI) tools may soon be used to enhance delivery accuracy for numbers during simultaneous interpreting (SI).
Given the novelty of the topic, the impact of in-booth CAI tool support on the SI of numbers is still largely under-researched. First, only a few studies have addressed the topic. Second, due to a number of methodological limitations, their findings yield only a partial understanding of the issue. The present work aims to make …
Asking The Big Questions That Guide Small Decisions: Developing Academic Library Infrastructure In Support Of Graduate Students’ Qualitative Research, Jessica Hagman
Transforming Libraries for Graduate Students
A primary task of graduate education is developing students who are able to ask valuable questions and use systematic research methods to develop new knowledge. By the end of most graduate programs, students are expected to be able to plan, implement, and share the results of an independent research process and make new knowledge claims. As such, they learn to make - and justify - the many decisions embedded in the research process. Academic libraries support graduate students’ development into independent researchers by providing both collections materials and library services related to the research process.
In this presentation, we turn …
Decoloniality As Methodological Praxis, Eric J. Hunting
Decoloniality As Methodological Praxis, Eric J. Hunting
Adult Education Research Conference
This paper examines decoloniality and ethnographic research using Maria Lugones' theoretical conceptualization of motion and stasis. In doing so, this supports developing a decolonial praxis-oriented toward culturally responsive research.
Sampling Distribution Of Non-Overlap Indices Using Bootstrapping Procedure : A Monte Carlo Simulation Study And Empirical Demonstration, Xinyun Xu
Legacy Theses & Dissertations (2009 - 2024)
Statistics can be either parametric or non-parametric, depending on whether distributional assumptions about the data and sampling distributions are required. Parametric and non-parametric approaches each include a variety of inferential methods. These methods can be seen in the field of single-case experimental design (SCED). By reviewing one of the most used groups of statistics for SCED research (Jamshidi et al., 2022; Maggin et al., 2011), the non-overlap indices, one major issue arose. It is challenging to make inferences and interpretations about non-overlap indices. The main reason for this issue is that non-overlap indices have inconsistent and unknown sampling distributions (under …
