This article highlights the importance of using the work of oriental thinkers in shaping the thinking of creative relationships among students. By highlighting to students the great figures and the exemplary lives of writers and poets who lived and worked in our time, we highlighted the importance of developing students' independent thinking skills. The pedagogical and psychological influence of the works of our ancestors motivates young people to make new discoveries and inventions in science and, most importantly, to act as an active member of society.

This study enters the discourse surrounding student-faculty interaction through an investigation of out-of-class interactions within an entry-level composition course. Empirical studies have found students and instructors in undergraduate courses often communicate infrequently, but most studies gathered quantitative data on interactions through student reporting. This study investigated influences on undergraduate students’ desire to interact with the course instructor outside of the classroom through the lens of both the instructor and the students. This study addressed the potential differences between students’ perceptions and the course instructor’s observations and found that the instructors’ demeanor, course content, and instructional delivery impact the number of …

Despite the continued growth of online enrollments nationwide, students consistently are not as successful in online courses as traditional face-to-face courses. The challenges are magnified in the two-year college environment, which has a disproportionately high percentage of low-income or minority students compared to four-year universities. This action research study uses a convergent parallel mixed methods design to study the effectiveness of a mandatory readiness course for online students at a two-year college in South Carolina to increase student success. Neisseria meningitidis is the major cause of invasive meningococcal disease (IMD) (Peterson et al, 2018). Approximately 10-15 percent of IMD cases result in debility including neurological impairment, amputation, and death (Peterson et al, 2018). Outbreaks of IMD are sporadic and unpredictable. The incidence of IMD varies geographically, but serogroup B has become more prevalent in recent years. When I write about mental illness, I use the terms: disability, identity, and relationship. However, no word captures what mental illness means to me. Mental illness is somehow both a part of me and a separate, intangible entity. Every day is an exhausting struggle to live with and understand it, and during my first year of graduate school, I experienced covert ableism. This harm caused a long and tedious recovery process on top of ongoing unlearning and healing. Oral case presentations (OP) provide an opportunity for medical students to practice clinical reasoning and communication skills, and for faculty to provide assessment. Specific teaching strategies are needed to improve students’ OP skills.

To compare the effectiveness of Virtual Coaching (VC) to Small Group (SG) discussion or Traditional Feedback (TF/control) in improving clinical reasoning during OP, using a validated PBEAR (Problem Representation, Background Evidence, Analysis, Recommendation) tool.

Education systems across the world are not only experiencing cultural diversification differently, but are also engaging with it using differing terms, concepts, and practices. Thus, understanding the varying dynamics underlying this global phenomenon of educational diversification is necessary. Online student success rates in community colleges have continued to fall below student success rates for their on-campus counterparts. The purpose of this causal-comparative quantitative study was to determine the difference in student success between students who used a hardcopy textbook for an online U.S. history course and students who used an online textbook at an urban community college in Texas while also investigating the influence of gender and ethnicity. This original research examined whether collegiate, traditionally-aged, undergraduate student risky behavioral choices rose during the study abroad experience as compared to when in the home collegiate environment. Open Educational Resources (OER) are becoming a significant, mission-driven trend within educational literature. To help address rising costs, instructors and designers are looking to OER to effectively replace traditional instructional content, which requires more than just identify and replace. Drawing from 51 OER studies conducted in countries across the five continents, this systematic literature review explored the empirical themes evident in the current research on a global scale. The safety of the aviation industry heavily depends on the performance of pilots. A pilot with a good cockpit culture improves safety performance. Given the significant mental health issues affecting our paramedics, there exists an urgent need to promote positive mental health and well-being among future cohorts of student paramedics. This study investigated the preparedness of student paramedics for the mental health challenges of the profession and explored the coping strategies used by experienced paramedics. The study was conducted in two parts. Part A comprised of two surveys which were developed and administered to 16 course coordinators and 302 students of the 16 accredited undergraduate paramedicine courses across Australia and New Zealand.
