Ouachita Baptist University will host Dr. David W. Bebbington, visiting professor at Baylor University, for a lecture on Monday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Ouachita’s McBeth Recital Hall in Mabee Fine Arts Center. The lecture is free and open to the public and is part of Ouachita’s Birkett Williams Endowed Lecture Series. Following the talk, there will be a brief time for questions from the audience.

Melba Pattillo Beals visited Ouachita Baptist University on April 2 as part of the university’s Birkett Williams Lecture Series, hosted this semester by Ouachita’s Huckabee School of Education. Dr. Beals, a recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal, spoke on equality, faith and her experience integrating into Little Rock Central High School as a member of the Little Rock Nine.

Ouachita Baptist University will host Melba Pattillo Beals, who is widely known as a member of the Little Rock Nine, for a lecture on Tuesday, April 2, at 7 p.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center. The lecture is free and open to the public and is part of Ouachita’s Birkett Williams Endowed Lecture Series. Following the lecture, Dr. Beals also will have a book signing from 8 to 10 p.m. in Walker Conference Center on Ouachita’s campus.
