Digital games and simulations (DG&S) could help mitigate inequities in civic education and participation, which are found in many contemporary democracies. Yet incorporating DG&S into the curriculum may reinforce or introduce inequities for students who are less engaged by game-based learning. A quasi-experimental study of 301 U.S. high school students in social studies classes examined whether prior academic performance, civic engagement, civic game play experience and gender affected how (and which) students benefit from playing a life simulation game. The Union Budget (2015- 16) has subsidized the corporate sector by providing tax reductions and sops. The phased reduction of corporate tax has made the richer sections of the economy jubilant. The burden of indirect taxes is going to break the back of poor women. The inspiration for the activity comes from the book Moi, raciste!?, published in 1998 by the Office for Official Publications of the European Communities. This book of a series of cartoons, each examining the themes of racism, discrimination, and prejudice. Students are given the charge of updating the book by creating a new page that reflects the current challenges related to racism. The publication is available in English as well. The documents provided are for an advanced high school French class.

This study is a leadership biography which provides, through the lens of Black feminist thought, an alternative view and understanding of the leadership of Black women. Specifically, this analysis highlights ways in which Black women, frequently not identified by the dominant society as leaders, have and can become leaders. Lessons are drawn from the life of Anna Julia Cooper that provides new insights in leadership that heretofore were not evident. Additionally, this research offers provocative recommendations that provide a different perspective of what leadership is among Black women and how that kind of leadership can inform the canon of leadership. …

Several researchers have identified social capital as a means to improve the social sustainability of communities. While there have been many studies investigating the benefits of social capital in homogeneous White communities, few have examined it in Black homogeneous communities. Also, there has been limited research on the influence of racism on social capital in African American communities. In this dissertation a comparative case study was used within a critical race theory framework.
