Evaluasi Kepemimpinan Budaya Jawa Dalam Pandangan Dan Perilaku Kepala Sekolah Dasar, Siti Supeni

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (1) pandangan kepala sekolah dasar (SD) terhadap nilai-nilai kepemimpinan budaya Jawa, (2) nilai-nilai kepemimpinan budaya Jawa dalam perilaku oleh kepala SD, (3) implikasi kebijakan kepala sekolah dasar terhadap nilai-nilai kepemimpinan budaya Jawa, (4) implikasi teoritis nilai-nilai kepemimpinan budaya Jawa oleh kepala SD, (5) implikasi praktis nilai-nilai kepemimpinan budaya Jawa oleh kepala sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan historis, antropologis, dan hermeneutik. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa (1) ada persamaan dan perbedaan pandangan oleh empat kepala sekolah terhadap nilai-nilai kepemimpinan budaya Jawa. (2) terdapat persamaan dan perbedaan perilaku kepala sekolah dalam mengaplikasikan nilai-nilai kepemimpinan budaya Jawa.

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the effects of Direct Instruction (DI) flashcard procedure, combined with strategies and rewards on multiplication fact accuracy of two elementary school-age students. A single subject replication design across three and four sets of multiplication facts was used to evaluate outcomes. The results indicated improvement in math performance for each participant. Follow-up data indicated maintenance of treatment effects over time. Finally, pre and posttest outcomes found generalization to correct writing of math facts for each participant. The benefits of employing DI flashcards in a resource room or home were discussed.

This study investigated whether students who engage in inquiry dialogue with others improve their performance on various tasks measuring argumentation development. The study used an educational environment called Philosophy for Children (P4C) to examine specific theoretical assumptions regarding the role dialogic interaction plays in the development of individual argumentation. Using quasi-experimental research design, we randomly assigned 12 fifth-grade classrooms to two treatment conditions: P4C and Regular Instruction (REG). To document treatment fidelity, we analyzed 36 systematically selected discussion transcripts focusing on various features of classroom discourse. Two common forms of teaching English to English-language learners are bilingual education and sheltered English immersion. While both programs claim successful second language acquisition, other effects of the programs need to be considered. This research examines one of those effects: self-efficacy, or students' perception that they will be successful or unsuccessful in doing a specific task or acquiring a specific skill. Science Self-Efficacy And School Transitions: Elementary School To Middle School And Middle School To High School, Brandi Lue Lofgran

This study examined the science self-efficacy beliefs of students before and after transitions from elementary to middle school and middle school to high school. The purpose was to explore whether those beliefs changed with grade level, gender, and ethnicity. Data were collected through a modified Self-Efficacy Questionnaire for Children (Muris, 2001), which was adapted to focus on science self-efficacy. Multiple ordinary least squares regression was used to analyze the data. All grade levels showed a clear decline in science self-efficacy after sixth grade with females, Hispanic students, and ninth graders showing the greatest decline in science self-efficacy.

Technology integration in school curricula promotes student achievement, yet many teachers are not successfully integrating technology for learning. This phenomenological study explored the strategies of 10 elementary teachers in Georgia who overcame barriers to technology integration to successfully incorporate lessons within the public school curriculum. To understand the successes, we assessed strategies for overcoming barriers, intrinsic and extrinsic motivators, and professional development experiences. Rogers’s innovation-decision process provided the theoretical foundation and data sources consisted of an open-ended questionnaire and two in-depth, semistructured interviews. In many settings teachers are given some autonomy but little guidance in the establishment of the physical environment of the classroom. Relatively few studies examine issues related to the totality of the physical environment of the classroom.
